Personal Note: Ah…Life is Good!

Just back from 3 weeks vacation in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico where Dave and I have gone every February for 15 years. We are so grateful for this time. As we’re becoming more and more “ageless” we keep extending the # of weeks we stay. Next year – a month?

This year it was EXTRA exciting because our son Rich and his girlfriend Lu came down and he PROPOSED on a Friday – she accepted immediately - and on Sunday I married them on the beach. I think I was more nervous than they were. It was a beautiful time and a simple ceremony.
For those of you that don’t know, Lu is also my lovely, as I like to call her, assistant, who does all the website design, maintenance and social media work for my business.

January flew by with the 6th Annual Business Strategy Workshop for Women.

I always ask at the beginning of the day what they most want to get out of the workshop.

The theme this year was REFOCUS. The theme told me that somewhere along the line women had lost the focus they had. The year before the theme was FOCUS.

Doesn’t it make sense though that focus was a “focus” because with all the distractions in our daily life – well, you know.

Here are three tips I find helpful to KEEP your FOCUS.

Two Technology Tips for Women in Business:

  1. Answer emails 2 or 3 times a day at set times. For example: 9:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m. Turn off bells, alerts so you can FOCUS on your work.
  2. A question I like to ask is to stay on task:  Is this activity REVENUE producing?
  3. Limit social media, Facebook, Instagram whatever, or texts or GAMES to non-work hours – in the morning before you start, lunch time, break in afternoon or evening. Otherwise set on AIRPLANE mode.
